The Faculty of Science at Wasit University discussed a Master’s thesis on the effect of natural dyes on zinc oxide with a nanostructure for high-sensitivity optical detection devices.

The thesis, prepared by student Hassanin Kazem Dawood, aimed to prepare nanoparticles of zinc oxide using plant synthesis and simple chemical methods, and to deposit the materials in air using drop-casting technology in the form of thin films on glass and porous silicon substrates in certain proportions.

The study found that plant synthesis and simple chemical methods are suitable for preparing nano-solutions (nano zinc oxide) as these two methods were characterized by the generation of nanoparticles whose properties do not change and the phenomenon of overlap does not occur and the material is deposited at the bottom.

It is worth mentioning that the drop-casting method can give thin films with acceptable homogeneity and regularity to study those solutions.
