The College of Science at the University of Wasit discussed a doctoral thesis entitled “Study of Genetic Polymorphism of Angiotensin 1 and 2 Converting Enzyme and Some Immune Markers in COVID-19 Patients.”
The study aimed to evaluate the immune status and its correlation with the genetic polymorphism of Angiotensin 1 and 2 Converting Enzyme in COVID-19 patients.
The study recommended conducting comprehensive future research on other immune interleukins that lead to immune dysregulation, as well as studies on the gene expression of ACE 1,2 in vaccinated and recovered patients. There is a need for further research on drugs and vaccines to reduce the virus’s replication and minimize its side effects.
